  • Food Waste Management & Disposal – In vessel composting (IVC) and anaerobic digestion (AD) are two technologies available for reprocessing food waste into a valuable end-product. Due to the controlled nature of these processes all types of food waste can be safely reprocessed – from fruit and vegetables to bakery, dairy and meat products – to develop a product that can be used as an agricultural bio fertiliser and soil improver. AD also produces biogas which can be used to produce renewable energy.
  • Mixed Recycling Management – On collection day the recycling vehicle empties the content of your bin or sack onto the recycling lorry. This material is compressed to ensure we can collect as much material as possible on each round. Once the lorry is full, with between 8 and 10 tonnes of recyclables, it goes to the local Recovery Centre. Once tipped, the recyclables aretransferred onto the first conveyor belt. The sorting process now begins. The originally mixed recyclables are now sorted and separated onto two conveyor belts; the first for paper and card, and the second for plastic bottles, aluminium cans and steel cans. The material is now separated into four bays; paper and card soft mix, aluminium cans, steel cans and plastic bottles.
